Summer Camp Program suitable for ages 12-17
Program Overview
With 30 hours of intense, but enjoyable instruction in each two-week session, campers concentrate on mastering four-way conversations, reading, speaking, listening and writing. Carlo and Anita, teachers and consummate professionals, with many years experience and both certified in teaching Italian as a foreign language (DILS-PG LEVEL II), will give you a warm welcome and guide you through the language course. The process of learning and language development will be based on a realistic and authentic communicative approach. The material presented in class will provide students with real-world examples and information related to culture and the practical use of Italian.
Italian Program
As a part of this highly rewarding experience, language campers are encouraged in fun, challenging ways to utilize their Italian throughout the entire day and evening, not only during classes. This ensures better progress and almost guarantees that children returning home will understand the language better and will have significantly improved their spoken Italian. Assessment is continuous. An appropriate certificate is awarded at the end of the language course.
Accommodation, excursions and activities
EtnaHub is located in a 19th century winery, near Acireale on the east coast of Sicily. It has been restored and converted into an extensive open area, with interconnecting multipurpose rooms over two levels.
Campers stay in a hotel close to the EtnaHub Center. The Hotel has spacious, mainly ensuite bedrooms for 3 campers, lounges and a swimming pool.
During each two-week session, full and half day excursions will be planned, as well as all kinds of activities. Details on activities are available on the Activity Program section.
